On Friday, December 19th, 2008 during their annual company Christmas party, Apex Professionals (http://www.apexprofessionalsllc.com/) met with a representative of World Vision International (http://www.worldvision.org/) and presented World Vision with a $12,000 donation. This $12,000 will cover the cost to build a deep fresh-water well in Musele, Zambia. Over 29,000 children die every single day in towns like Musele around the world from diseases related to bad water supplies. A deep water well such as this with a fitted hand pump can provide up to 2,800 gallons of safe water every day to benefit as many as 300 people! In Musele, Zambia clean water lies hundreds of feet below layers of hard rock. Children have no choice but to walk long distances to find water that is often dirty and disease-ridden.
“When our drilling teams strike water, entire villages erupt in celebration because a clean water source can cut a community’s child mortality rate by as much as half,” reports World Vision.
“We had been planning this donation for over a year;”mentioned an Apex Executive, “Timing was perfect. When we contacted World Vision to set this up, they informed us that an anonymous benefactor was matching all deep well donations right now, which means our contribution will transform 2 towns instead of just 1. We couldn’t be more pleased with this entire process.”
In addition to providing funds for a deep well, the Apex Professionals’ Staff and family members ended the evening by sponsoring an additional 15 children who live in Musele through the World Vision “HopeChild” monthly sponsorship program.
“As a HopeChild Sponsor, you are connected with one special child who will know your name, write to you and feel your tender love and prayers. Your child sponsorship monthly pledge of $35 of a HopeChild in African countries and other countries around the world can help turn the tide of the HIV and AIDS pandemic. $35 a month can provide such things as; Clean Water, Nutritious Food, Health Care, AIDS Prevention, Care for Sick or Dying Parents, Educational Opportunities, Spiritual Nurture, and Counseling. “ –World Vision

We are honored to have been able to sponsor one of these children. In a world that so desperatly needs help, doing this small thing seems so inconsequential, but we know it will make a big difference in this little boy's life and therefore his family and village.
